Terms of service
Last updated October 3, 2026
These terms cover websites and related services provided by Plainstreet Studio ("we", "us") to you, the business that buys them ("you"). By paying for a plan you agree to them. If anything here is unclear, email [email protected] before you buy.
1. Previews
We may build a free preview website for a business using information that is publicly available, such as map and directory listings. A preview is a sample offered for sale. It is not the business's official website, is marked as a preview, is excluded from search engines, and expires on the date shown on it. The business owes nothing for a preview. On request from the business (via our removal form or by email) we take a preview offline within two business days and stop contacting the business. We aren't affiliated with or endorsed by any business we make a preview for, and names and trademarks belong to their owners.
2. Plans
- Standard: a one-time setup fee of $299, then $29 per month or $290 per year, billed in advance. Includes building and publishing your site, hosting, a security certificate, registering or renewing one domain while you're subscribed, access to the editor, and up to 30 minutes of change requests per month (unused time doesn't roll over).
- Own it: a one-time fee of $699. We set the finished site up in accounts you own and give you editor access. You pay any domain or third-party costs directly. Later work from us is quoted before we start.
- Online ordering add-on: $149 setup, then $10 per month. We set up and link an ordering service such as Square. Orders, payments, refunds and fees for food orders are between you, your customers and that service.
Work larger than routine changes, such as new pages, redesigns or new features, is quoted in writing first and only done if you agree.
3. Payment
Payments are processed by our payment processor (Whop); we never see or store full card details. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Prices are in US dollars. If a payment fails we'll let you know and give you a way to update your card. If a payment is more than 14 days overdue and we can't reach you, we may pause the site until it's settled. Pausing never deletes your content.
4. Your content and ownership
You own your business name, logo, text, photos, menu and other content you provide or that describes your business, and you own your domain. Once your setup fee (or the Own it fee) is paid, you also own the design and code of your site. You confirm that you have the right to use any content you send us, and that the information on your site is accurate. You can ask us to correct anything at any time. We may show a small "Site by Plainstreet Studio" credit in the footer; you can ask us to remove it.
5. Cancellation and keeping your site
You can cancel a subscription at any time by email or through your payment receipt. Cancellation stops future charges. Your site stays up until the end of the period you've paid for. On request, we then send you your site files and transfer the domain into your name at no charge. See refunds and cancellation for details.
6. Acceptable use
We won't publish content that is unlawful, infringes someone else's rights, or is misleading. We may decline or remove such content after telling you why.
7. Availability and liability
We host on large, reliable providers and work to keep your site online, but we can't guarantee uninterrupted availability or that a site will achieve any particular search ranking or sales. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be limited.
8. Ending the service
We may end the service with 30 days' notice, in which case we refund any prepaid period you haven't used and hand over your files and domain. We may suspend a site immediately if it's being used unlawfully.
9. Changes and disputes
If we change these terms, we'll update the date above and tell current clients about material changes by email at least 14 days before they apply. If something goes wrong, please email us first; most problems are solved in a day. These terms are governed by the laws of the US state in which Plainstreet Studio operates.
